Before sending in your digital files, please review the following specifications. If you are unsure about the specifications please do not hesitate to contact us prior to sending your files.
Adobe Photoshop
Your Photoshop files should be flattened and saved as a TIF document. Please make sure that your document is in CMYK colour format and at a resolution of at least 300 dpi.
Adobe Illustrator
Save file as a "Press Quality" PDF. Make sure crop marks are selected with a bleed of at least .125". Also ensure all pantone colours are converted to process. Saving in this format ensures that your file will be processed quickly and normalized without error.
Adobe Indesign
Use the file export feature to export your file to a "Press Quality" PDF. Make sure only crop marks are selected with a bleed of at least .125". Also ensure all pantone colours are converted to process. Saving in this format ensures that your file will be processed quickly and normalized without error.
QuarkXpress
Export document to Press Quality PDF. Supporting images should be in CMYK colour format. Images should be at a minimum resolution of 300dpi.
CorelDRAW
Publish to PDF using "Press Quality" settings. Make sure crop marks are selected with a bleed of at least .125". Also ensure all pantone colours are converted to process. Saving in this format ensures that your file will be processed quickly and normalized without error.
PDF Format
We only accept "Press Quality" PDF files. If using Acrobat Distiller to create a PDF make sure your postscript files are "distilled" using "Press Quality" settings.
Fonts
If applicable, all fonts used must be supplied. Both printer and screen fonts must be included. Postscript fonts yield industry standard results. Alternatively all fonts can be converted to outlines or embedded.
Scanning
All scanned images should be of a professional standard. Scanned images need to be saved at an appropriate resolution of 300 dpi for continuous tone reproduction (photos and/or illustrations). Photos or scans should always be saved as CMYK and saved in tif format .
BLEED:
Please make sure your artwork has at least .125" of bleed. In addition, ensure all your critical type is at least .125" inward from the crop area (type safety). This will ensure that the finished product will not have type cut off and will be evenly spaced.
COLOURS:
All colours in your document must be CMYK if you use spot colours in your design please convert them to cmyk before saving, duotone images must also be converted to cmyk. Colour is printed to our print vendor's standards, i.e. pleasing colour. Exact colour match not guaranteed. Critical colour requires a colour key or match print. Colour laser copies or other proofs are not considered accurate prepress proofs.
